It's Been a long time since our last newsletter. It was a busy spring for the ABBA, with the Northern's, Southern's and Alberta's all presenting well organized shows with outstanding athletes. Thanks to Ooggy Boogy for sponsoring half of the team uniform cost.for our 40 athletes that competed at the Nationals. A judging clinic was held on April 2, 1999 before the Southern's. Twenty people attended. Ten new judges have been certified as a result of this clinic, and the others will test judge either at the Muscle Beach show or others next year. Muscle Mag printed a positive letter about Brian & Donna Logue and what they are doing for Alberta bodybuilders. Gary Bartlett's column "Canadian Corner" in Muscle Mag has included comments on Brian and Donna and several of Alberta's athletes. Linda Bureau, the 1998 Canadian Natural Bodybuilding Champ, has received a great deal of exposure in most of the major bodybuilding magazinesand has received at least one contract with a supplement company. Sam Smith, received a 1 year Muscle Tech contract. Donna Logue, landed contracts with both interactive and Jan Tana Canada Cheryl Pitruniak, as featured in an article in the Edmonton Journal after she won the Northern's A feature article about Dean Bazylewich appeared in the Edmonton Journal following his victory in the middle weight division of the Alberta Championship. |
