1998 Canada’s – Alberta Perspective

This article was written by Allan Osborn and does not necessarily reflect the opinion of the ABBA

I consider this year's judging of the women to have been offensive to serious athletes. The CBBF decided that the female athletes should be judged on some basis other than development, muscle maturity and condition. They specifically chose not to reward the hard shredded look and appeared to have favoured shape, sexiness and curviness.

The promoter further screwed the middleweight and heavyweight women by never bringing the entire class out on stage at the evening show and not allowing the women who also competed in masters to be presented along with their respective weight classes.
