Welcome to the Alberta Bodybuilding Site!
It's been an incredible year for the ABBA and it just keeps going! We've made it through FIVE terrific shows, with Alberta athletes succeeding at every one of them. And it's not over! October 16th is the ever-popular Muscle Beach Fall Classic, with IFBB Pro Victor Martinez guest posing!
And the very next day, come out to our annual Awards Brunch. Great food, great company and just rewards. What more could you ask for?
Thanks to each and every one of you for your ongoing support, passion and dedication to our sport in Alberta.

A letter from David Leung, ABBA President
On behalf of the Alberta Bodybuilding Association (ABBA) Executive Team it is an honor to Preside over such a dedicated group of athletes whom strive to complete their goals and dreams in our association. The ABBA has been in existence for over 20 years and is the only sanctioned body of the IFBB (International Federation of Bodybuilders – where the likes of Arnold, Monica Brant and Jen Hendershott made their careers) and CBBF (Canadian Bodybuilding Federation). The ABBA offers many venues for athletes to compete in from Fitness, Figure and Bikini Model to traditional bodybuilding. Our National Association runs the Country's ONLY Olympic level drug tested event the Canadian Natural Bodybuilding and Body Fitness competition.
The ABBA hold 4 contests a year, traditionally 2 novice shows in the summer (regional North and South) followed by the Donna and Brian Logue Provincial Classic. There is also a fall novice show. These shows have all disciplines competing as mentioned above (Fitness, Figure and Bikini Model to traditional bodybuilding). From the Provincial stage, progression to the National level and then onto IFBB Professional status is one of the great benefits of competing in the ABBA. Many of our Pro and Novice athletes have graced the mainstream magazines and have been able to compete in such prestigious competitions such as the Olympia and Arnold Classic.
The ABBA supports its athletes by not only providing first class competitions but also in financial ways such as payment of National entry fees, Provincial track suits and athlete bursaries. The ABBA is non-profit organization and receives some funding from the Alberta Gaming commission. Through these endeavors we encourage a healthy and fit lifestyle, an institution where amateur athletes can compete under the sanctioning of the IFBB and CBBF and last but not least a venue for friendly, fair and fun competition!
